Ruby Tuesday

I swear Etsy was created by some evil force hell bent on torturing me with handmade or vintage goodies from around the world. On a recent "window shop," I found these earrings from Vivid By Esther in New York and had to physically force myself not to whip out the credit card on the spot and start furiously typing numbers. Simple, geometric, and colour blocked, these beauties are in trend for the summer and they definitely won't break the bank. So perhaps I will whip out that credit card after all...

I love the carefree ways of Betty at Le Blog de Betty. Anyone that can wear a batman t-shirt and leopard print shorts together and look amazing is definitely up there in my books. And with over 200, 000 likes on Facebook and her blog available in Portuguese, English and French, I'm almost certain she's at the top of everyone else's books too. As an aside, these boots are a must!

Living Pretty

My new favourite place to visit is Living With Lindsay, a DIY, home decor, and idea generating blog that keeps me wishing I had a home to call my own! This recent post on a hanging bed frame planter is so clever it makes me a tad jealous I didn't think of it myself. However, I will have to stick with smaller projects until I have the space for such an idea. Perhaps this zebra print plate will be a better project for the time being.

Five Is The Magic Number

Five Words Tell A Story is a compilation of beautiful typography, simple design, and a clever idea. Drawing inspiration from other blogs, music, and just life in general, the girls behind Five Words add another layer of meaning and thought to, you guessed it, just five little words. When all you need is a kick of creativity or a little pick me up, Five Words is the place you should go. So go. Go now.

I am on vacation this week and as soon as I saw this recipe for Chocolate Waffles with Poached Cherries on Sunset, I knew I would be treating myself to it. What better way to start a lazy day?

I'm not exactly sure why I've neglected to do a post on The Cherry Blossom Girl before, but better late then never I always say! Paris native Alix started style blogging in 2007 and her high-fashion pedigree has kept her going strong ever since. Romance, fairy-tales, and flowers come to mind when browsing through her images and suddenly I feel like I'm in a Sofia Coppola movie. The only disappointing thing is, that I've waited so long to share it with all of you.

I'm pretty sure everyone's dream is to work from home. Well, mine is at least and if I did my office would definitely have to look something like this. Emma Reddington's Toronto Victorian home, featured on Design Sponge is simply lovely. I am immediately copying the "clothesline" of inspiration above the desk and the sheepskin chair cover for my own little office.

Garden Party

Queen of Love and Ice Cream   oil on canvas
I can't stop day dreaming about Kate Domina's new series, Garden of Good & Domina. Her most recent works are the perfect blend of Summer mischief and sweetness. Sugary strokes of paint emulate icing on a cake, while the figures' steely gazes look right through you. I desperately want to be a part of this strange, yet enchanting world. For now, this print I bought from Kate's show will have to suffice.

Our friends over at Spoon Fork Bacon are beating the summer heat with these fabulous Cherry Gin and Tonics. Not too sweet and perfectly fizzy for a poolside bevvy, these ombre drinks are great for a hot day. But if alcohol isn't your thing, you should make the best of the summer fruit crop with these flavoured ice cubes. Berry-licious indeed!

If you have ever needed inspiration when it comes to your new pair of pastel jeans, look no further. Blogger, Andrea Kerbuski, better known as the Blonde Bedhead, pretty much has an outfit covered for every colour of denim imaginable. I love the sweetness of this mint outfit, in which she pays tribute to the after dinner mint. Her sassy attitude, amazing hair and truly covetable accessories have me wishing I was in her shoes (literally).

Julia Dely has a goal to take ordinary porcelain dishes and make them special and unique. Her Etsy shop Zuppa Atelier showcases this goal. Each plate, cup, and bowl has a hand drawn and painted illustration that screams with love and child-like wonder. I'm a big fan of the vintage wall plate above, but am also being swayed by this espresso set. I just know that my coffee will taste better in it.

Playing With Knives

JFK  brass handled knife, vintage coin, gold plated chain

Ax and Apple of Austin has a thing for knives. Not just any knives though, vintage pen knives. These tiny, unassuming items were used to sharpen quill pens and were often meant to be hidden, not worn around your neck. However, when paired with vintage coins and chains, these humble knives become stunners. I'm amazed and left wanting more.

It's been smokin' hot here in Ontario for the past week, so it has been hard to put on anything other than shorts and a tank. The above Dolce & Gabbana skirt and corset, seen on The Sartorialist, are the perfect way to stay cool on a hazy summer day and still maintain a ladylike disposition.  I love the unexpected red peppers with the sassy (and cooling) bit of midriff skin.

Personal style blogger Veronika knows how to rock vintage and fast fashion all while looking like she just stepped out of a Noxzema commercial. Her blog Girl & Closet showcases her best style choices and a weekly giveaway from one of her many (amazing) sponsors. On top of all that awesomeness, she also runs her own little jewelry shop. Seriously, how does she find the time?!

I love, love, love these vintage cake stands! Bakery, Sweet & Saucy Shop decided their customers should have easy access to beautiful antique dishware and so was born Sweet & Saucy Supply. Owners, Melody Brandon and Eileen Francabandera traveled to every flea market and shop they could think of to produce a wonderful collection of delicious, candy coloured dishes. I'm not sure what I fancy more, the sweets or the stands!

Mr. Postman

With weddings on the brain, I happily stumbled upon Lindsay Letters. Lousy at penmanship? Not to worry, Lindsay can do it for you! Her love of lettering encourages beautiful and one of a kind results. Lindsay offers four different type styles to choose from. It's a tough choice, but I think my favourite is lindsay letters, a fun and pretty mix of all types. If I actually had her write out my guests' invitations, I'm not sure I could bear sending them away!

Bigger Boat throw pillow

Inspired by geometric shapes and African and Scandinavian design, Mengsel creator Luzelle van der Westhuizen is a screen-printer extraordinaire. Covering your home in her bright and cheery patterns will instantly liven up any room. Just looking at the crimson pillow above makes me smile from ear to ear.

If there was ever a person to embody summertime cool, it would have to be blogger, Gracie Carroll. Her outfits just scream effortless chic. Gracie notes Chloe Sevigny as a major style icon of hers and I can definitely see the connection. They both emit a bright confidence and independence through their style that I think every girl hopes to achieve. Confidence definitely helps Gracie shine in this summer sweater tank, which by the way I am now completely obsessed with.
