(Temporary) Goodbye

Don't be sad, we'll be in touch!    painting by Luke Chueh
First off, we want to thank all of our loyal readers and followers who have supported Pretty Things this past year. We are forever grateful to all of you. However, it is with sad regret that Pretty Things will be taking a semi-retirement. With upcoming nuptials, new jobs, and new homes, we  have decided to reitre the PT blog for a little while until there is enough time in our lives to give Pretty Things the dedication it deserves. We promise to come back in some capacity or another, but until that time comes, we will be keeping our Facebook page updated with personal projects and stuff we love. Thanks again to all you wonderful people and we hope to come out of retirement soon.

Living Pretty

It's a little bit sad that 2012 is coming to a close. One reason I'm a little glum is because my Bookhou printed linen 2012 calendar will have to come down from my wall. Luckily I have found a smart replacement. Over at Ship & Shape Fine Goods you can purchase a wonderfully celestial, 2013 Full Moon Calendar. The print is beautifully drawn by Isa Gagarin and it let's you know when to be wary of a full moon. Perfect.

Tree Time

Looking to update your tree decor? Search no further. LEIF has beautiful and quirky tree ornaments that do the job for you! From sparkling beetles to porcelain pinecones, you can really have the Christmas tree you've always pined for (I thought you'd like that one). I am also currently admiring these glittering salad servers. Perfect for during and after the holiday season!

Ruby Tuesday

I love to cook, but lately haven't had much time to spend over a hot stove. So, I scheduled in a Christmas dinner party for all my displaced friends here in Alberta. After planning the menu, I realized I needed some gear to get this party started and low and behold, I discovered the perfect holiday combination over at my local Anthropologie. This Fiammetta Apron with matching pot holders is just what I need to host a holiday soiree. Now, if only cooking a turkey was this easy!

Sunday Best

Alice McCall's Fall/Winter 2012 lookbook has some serious ethereal beauty going on. The dainty cutouts and feather light materials are enough to put me in a trance. These are pieces you would definitely need to throw on a warm sweater or coat with. I'd be willing to fight the cold for these goodies though.
