That's a Wrap Part Duex

Picking up from last week's post on wrapping for the holiday season, PT brings you Inky Co.  Inky Co. is an Australian paper goods company with lots to offer. They have everything from gift tags to ribbons, scissors to tape, making it a one stop shop for all your wrapping needs. Inky Co. also has a little DIY section where you can find out how to wrap like a pro-star, something I definitely need help with!

Living Pretty

Originally found over at Bored Panda, this re-purposed bathtub is a stunner and a half (get it?). We love a good DIY project, even extremely ambitious ones like this. Personally, I would throw a couple more pillows on there to make my back more comfy, but otherwise, I'd love to spend an afternoon reading in this tub.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

I just realized that I have never shared the glorious blog that is Oh Happy Day! with all of our wonderful readers. Shame on me. Oh Happy Day! is a fabulous lifestyle site with plenty of DIY projects and lots of ideas for your next event. This paper dot garland made me want to throw a birthday party stat. And call me old fashioned, but I still like to send and receive traditional invitations in the mail. Oh Happy Day! not only posts their own invitation creations, but they also curate some of the best paper mail I've seen on the interwebs. It would be a happy day for me to receive any one of them in the post.

Living Pretty

I have to say, this is one of the best, easiest and prettiest decor projects I have seen in awhile. Vintage tea trays used as message boards is only one of many amazing finds on the design blog, Poppytalk. I would also highly recommend stopping by their home base, Poppytalk Handmade, an online curated market for arts and crafts. I am especially partial to these fun pillows by Evie Kemp.

Fall into Chevron

Thanksgiving is upon us fellow Canadians. If you are looking for a cute, but not corny (pun intended) project to tastefully bring you into the autumn season, look no further. Living Pretty

Obviously, we here at Pretty Things love a good DIY project. And since I myself have been living on a budget in a new province, I've been all over the scene for some cheap DIY items for the home. This modular shelves tutorial from Daily Candy is just the thing I need to store some of my accessories and add a little panache to my bare walls. Depending on the size and number of tubes you use, this project can come in under $25 if you wanted it to. Not only that, but it's durable enough to hold heavier items and still look modern and unique.

To a Tee

We all have more old t-shirts than we know what to do with. So, why not make them into something useful. Even better than that, useful and amazing! I have found two crafty projects that I can't wait to make (or have someone make for me...). The first one featured on Refinery29, is a ridiculously rad woven t-shirt necklace. This project seems like a bit of persistance may be involved, but the results are definitely worth it and the material list is next to nil. If you're looking to step it up a notch, try letting an old logo or pattern show through. The second project can be found at delia creates. As plastic bags near extinction I find myself tiring of the usual canvas bag. This crochet inspired jersey bag looks like just the thing to take me to and from the market. Okay, so I don't really frequent any markets, but I'll have to start with a bag this creative. It's just dying to have fresh produce displayed in it. Off to the market we go! Do you guys have any novel tee creations to share? Please do, as I'm now obsessed.

My new favourite place to visit is Living With Lindsay, a DIY, home decor, and idea generating blog that keeps me wishing I had a home to call my own! This recent post on a hanging bed frame planter is so clever it makes me a tad jealous I didn't think of it myself. However, I will have to stick with smaller projects until I have the space for such an idea. Perhaps this zebra print plate will be a better project for the time being.

Sunday Best

It's common knowledge that we here at Pretty Things love arts and crafts. DIY should be our middle name. So it comes as no surprise that P.S. - I Made This would make an appearance here sooner or later. Part fashion, part lifestyle, and all DIY, I Made This is the place to go when you need a project and a pick me up. Each entry features a mood board of inspiration and from there creator Erica Domesek makes something out of (next to) nothing. The shorts above have inspired a similar tank top project I'm considering and this ear warmer/awesome headband is the answer to all my single socks.

DIY Dotted Denim

It's no secret that Pretty Things is slightly obsessed with polka dots. Okay, we're head over heels in love! When I spotted (literally) a few pairs of dotted jeans in the spring line ups, namely a green pair by Current/Elliott, I couldn't take my eyes off of them. It wasn't long before the crafty in me came through and decided to make my own! I thought about using a stencil, but couldn't find one that fit the bill so I just free painted the polka dots. I think they turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me. Especially when you take into account that they came to a total cost of $20.95 + tax.
